Pickup in every gym
Faculty and staff played wherever they could: the Activity Center with coaches, or PE West with students and community members (many of them local fire and police regulars). Winners stayed on.
Time set aside
Health and Physical Education reserved 11:30 to 12:30 for faculty-staff games and stopped scheduling classes in the West Gym. A full-court game started on the north court, later extended to 11:30–1:30 MWF.
The Association is born
After hearings called by Faculty Assembly President Bill Arnold, the 11:30–1:30 block was assigned on condition of forming an organization. Bylaws were approved in March 1993, and George Watson was elected as first president.
Snapple buys the balls
A Snapple commercial shoot paid $500 into the treasury, enough to buy new basketballs
Students were unhappy

Going online
Steve Nelson created the list server and Mike McBeath built the first web page. Membership then ran 50–100, with 25–30 playing on an average day.
The end of the topless era
Someone did not appreciate the sweaty jiggliness of shirts vs skins. After some experimentation with ugly practice pinnies we realized that we could probably remember four faces. Alas, the rate of simple giveaways increased.
Move to SDFC
After 25 years, we left the now rotting PE West for the air-conditioned paradies that is the SDFC.
